Take the joy of boating to the next level with the new BF115 – 150 series. We’ve reengineered and redesigned the 115 and 150, added the new BF140, and added upgrades and improvements that boost performance.
Available in Aquamarine Silver or Grand Prix White, the BF115, BF140, and BF150 all feature sleek, aerodynamic styling for a bold, new look. But good looks are just the beginning.
All three outboards are now available with Honda’s Intelligent Shift and Throttle (iST®) drive-by-wire system, for superb control and power.
Repositioned anodes and a new bolt coating boost corrosion resistance. The redesigned cowl provides easier spark plug access. Other redesigned and repositioned components include the trim and tilt unit, water separator, fuel filters, and an enlarged dipstick tube. Combined with enhanced diagnostic codes, these changes make maintenance easier than ever, and significantly reduce maintenance time.

Honda’s iST (Intelligent Shift and Throttle)
Honda’s exclusive Intelligent Shift and Throttle (iST) command and control system delivers superb control plus plug-and-play installation of Honda Marine products and third-party controls and devices. iST offers multi-engine applications, with fine tuning of throttle settings at any speed, enhanced docking and slow speed control, and a simple, easy to understand user interface. Available on select BF115, 140, and 150 models.
VTEC® – Smooth acceleration and power (140 and 150hp)
Featured on the BF140 and 150, Honda’s Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control (VTEC®) system provides power where and when you need it. VTEC gives you a broader, flatter torque curve and smooth power delivery throughout the engine’s operating range. The result is a superior combination of power, torque and fuel economy. VTEC is the modern replacement for displacement.
Instant Acceleration: BLAST® System
Boosted Low Speed Torque, or BLAST, improves acceleration at low speeds. A quick movement of the throttle control activates the BLAST® system, advancing the ignition curve aggressively. “Hole Shot” is vastly improved as more horsepower gets the hull up on plane quicker.
Dual Stage Induction – Breathing easier improves performance
The BF140 and 150 are equipped with Dual Stage Induction to maximize air input for combustion.
Dual Overhead CAM (DOHC) – High horsepower, low maintenance
A powerful, compact 24-valve DOHC design creates more valve lift to pull in more air for increased horsepower. Low-maintenance design allows easy adjustment of the rocker arms. No multiple shims or trial-and-error adjusting needed.
Lean Burn Control® – Superior fuel efficiency
Lean Burn Control® increases fuel efficiency by allowing combustion to operate on a leaner air/fuel mixture. At cruising speed, this engine runs on up to 20% less fuel* than others in its class.

Multi-port Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) – Powerful performance
Programmed Fuel Injection delivers the precise amount of fuel/air to each cylinder. The result is easy starts and instant throttle response with superior fuel efficiency.

The little things make a big difference. The BF115, 140, and 150 are designed to reduce maintenance time for routine tasks like oil and filter changes.

4-Front Corrosion Protection System – Fights the elements
A patented, “Double Sealed” multi-layered paint process. Sacrificial anodes and stainless steel technology, along with waterproof connectors, all enhance corrosion protection.
NMEA 2000 – On-board connectivity
NMEA 2000 protocols allow engine data to be interfaced with on-board systems and systems displays, such as sonar or GPS.

Superior Battery Charging – More usable power
Honda’s proven “on demand” 55 amp belt-driven alternator reduces heat buildup and provides 40 amps of battery charging capability.
Variable Speed Trolling Switch
A variable speed trolling switch makes fishing easy and convenient. Simply push the toggle switch to adjust the trolling speed in 50 RPM increments from 650 RPM to 1000 RPM. Standard on iST models; optional on mechanical.
Opt. Tilt Limit Switch & Smart Key Immobilizer
An optional Tilt Limit Switch and Smart Key Immobilizer add peace of mind and convenience.
Engine Command Module – Optimum performance
The ECM receives constant input from 18 different sensors to deliver instant starts, smooth operation, strong performance and excellent fuel efficiency.
3-Way Cooling System – Cool running durability
Three separate cooling systems keep the cylinder heads running cooler for long-term durability.
Convenient Single Latch Cowl
A single front-mounted latch combines with 4 securing points to ensure a water-tight seal.
Fresh Water Flushport
Flushes debris and saltwater out of the engine, extending the life of the outboard.
Ultra Low 3 Star CARB Emissions
Environmentally conscious technology. All Honda Marine engines exceed the highest CARB 3-Star rating to meet the rigorous California Air Resource Board’s standards.

Counter Rotation Available
Counter rotating models are available for multiple engine applications. These models improve efficiency, hull maneuverability and decreases driver fatigue.
